Earlier this month I had the opportunity to participate in one of my favorite annual events - the PLM World Conference. At this conference - the largest gathering of product lifecycle management (PLM) users in the world - I always hear about not only creative product development solutions, but also impressive new ways companies are transforming their processes of innovation and expanding the value of PLM to team members at all levels of a product's lifecycle.
We have seen this increased market focus on the broad value of PLM reflected in our revenues. In our first quarter 2005 earnings announcement last week, we reported quarterly total revenue of US$252.6 million, or 8 percent growth over the same period a year earlier. The cPDM segment of our business was especially strong, showing 38.4 percent total revenue growth.
As always with UGS, the key driver of our growth is our continued focus on our customers' success as our number one priority. And one very significant factor in accelerating our customers' success and the adoption of UGS' PLM solutions is our "Open for Business" approach that enables firms to leverage their past investments, build for the future and connect with the broadest range of partners using products, technology, standards, platforms and services that work best for their individual needs.
