More and more attention is being paid to the significant benefits of product lifecycle management (PLM) to large enterprises, but what about PLM for smaller companies? The needs to innovate, collaborate, reduce cycle times and manage complexity - needs that PLM addresses -- are common to all manufacturing companies, large and small.
AMR Research in a recent article1 highlighted a common misconception that, while not all small manufacturers are the same, they cannot generally be classified as "simple" businesses. In fact, many struggle with the same issues as their larger counterparts, but sometimes with much higher stakes as well as more barriers along the way.
